Toon De Somer was founded in 1989. We started as an office retailer focused on selling copiers and printers, tables and chairs.
Before too long, Toon De Somer understood the need to differentiate his offering, which led to imports from Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and France. In 2005, we chose to expand our imports to the Far East. First for the company itself, later for a network of distributors.
Not much later, Toon De Somer changed tack and decided to take on conceptual interior design assignments. Toon De Somer became a regular partner in renovation projects from the initial planning to completion.
After a 10-year focus on imports, 2016 saw the first steps towards the realisation of in-house designs in collaboration with Belgian designers.
In 2018, the Toon De Somer company divested its printer division to focus entirely on the interior design market. And it was an instant hit.
From Begonialei and Bredabaan in Merksem to Bredastraat in Antwerp, Toon De Somer will move into new offices and showrooms in a complex of more than 3,000 m² as of 2024.
The future is guaranteed thanks to a team of young entrepreneurs led by Michaël Swalens, flanked by Arnaud Lacroix-Baartmans, Anthony Coates and Thomas De Somer.
